There's Always Something...

Apple Store...

Today we visited the new Apple Store in our part of town. Those who read this regularly are familiar with my tendency to lust over Mac computers and related goodies. And, of course, it was a lusty trip!

I messed with the new computers and gawked at the products that surround them. It was heaven.

A helpful salesman showed me around and answered some questions. He even showed me some features on my present Mac that I didn't know about.

We didn't buy anything, but how often do I unreservedly have a good time while shopping? Not often.

Granny Smiths...

For some strange reason, while working on my Pixyblog photo this morning, I decided to see what Granny Smith apples looked like in black and white. Jo Ann didn't like the effect, and her taste is always right on, but I was fascinated. So my photoblog got the color photo and I am slipping this one in for you!

No Comment Department...

Word comes this morning that Petsmart stock hasn't done too well lately.

The company is optimistic, however, that their new line of Halloween costumes for our dogs and cats will restore their company to both high profits and good spirits.

Zappos - Amazing...

Most of us, I expect, do a lot of grumbling about service and deliveries from on-line shopping. I take advantage of Amazon's (one of my favorite sources) free shipping and excellent selections of books and other products only to have my order sometimes delivered weeks, and on a few occasions months later.That I don't like.

It was a great surprise when I discovered Zappos, an on=line shoe store. We've used them a few times and have been amazed at what we've found.

A huge varied inventory - many choices.

Helpful hints, pictures and suggestions in their on=line catalogue.

Easy orders.

One day, free, tax-free delivery. (Yes, it really works that way.) Next day.

Free and simple returns if or when you order the wrong size, change your mind or just don't like the shoes - this without any pressure applied. Just attach their form, drop it by UPS and it's on its way - no questions asked.

I can't resist passing on the word when a company promises and delivers on services that we didn't even know existed.
